Sacramental
From the beginning of the Church, millions of men, women, and children have been added to the Body of Christ in the

Today, out of the richness of this heritage we are witnessing a recovery of the beauty and authenticity of the ancient liturgies, sign and symbol, the sacramental life, and the weekly celebration of Holy Eucharist.

While some have dismissed liturgy as a “dead form,” we have discovered in them the life-transforming truths of the Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ. As Christians for two millennia have realized the importance of their history, so we understand, that as the Church, “We are who we were.” We have come to agree with the early Christian conviction that liturgies can only be true or false-- Only people can be alive or dead.

We believe that we have a covenant- making and covenant-keeping God. In the Charismatic Episcopal Church, we worship Him in the practice of the seven sacraments.

        • Baptism
        • Holy Communion
        • Confirmation
        • Penance
        • Holy Orders
        • Matrimony
        • Unction

Liturgy ensures that our worship remains Christ centered. Through Jesus Christ God reveals Himself to us, and through Jesus Christ, we respond to Him!

Evangelical
The Charismatic Episcopal Church recognizes the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the inspired, infallible Word of God. Holy Scriptures serve as the final authority on all matters of faith and practice. We are committed to the faithful reading, study, teaching, and preaching of the Word of God. With the rich heritage of the early Church, its writings and practices, we embrace the necessity of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and a holy life of loving service in accordance with His obedient example and commandments.

We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ on earth; and, as such, the Church is to bear testimony by word and deed to His saving grace. We are committed to teaching which changes lives, after all, II Tim 3:16-17 says that “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

We are faithful to the Liturgy of the Word in our worship. Those appointed to preach in the Charismatic Episcopal Church prayerfully seek God’s word for the people.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Charismatic
At St. Andrew’s we believe that all Christian worship is “Our response to what God has already done.”

When Jesus went to be with the Father, He did not leave His infant Church comfortless. The promised Holy Spirit has been with the Church since the time of the Apostles as Comforter, Advocate, Helper, Counselor and Guide. Christians have always been endowed with a power beyond themselves ...from the Holy Spirit Himself, ...for the profit of all, that is, for the good of His body, the Church. Ephesians 4:8 “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men.”

Today, the gifts of the Spirit have been rediscovered through the Pentecostal and Charismatic movements. At St. Andrew’s we expect the presence of the Holy Spirit working through the gifts both in our corporate worship and in our daily lives. The anointing with oil and prayers for healing are a normal part of our worship. St. Andrew’s has dedicated Healing Services on a regular basis. We believe it is normative for Christians to exhibit the fruit of the Spirit in their daily lives ...love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self control ...against such there is no law.
